GEC manufactured this 5 valve Superhet receiver in 1953. Housed in a bakelite moulded case. This radio featured 3 reception wavebands, medium, long, and short selected by means of a central slider switch. A frame aerial is fitted inside to improve MW & LW reception. For shortwave reception an external outside aerial is required. Extension sockets at the rear are provided for speaker, aerial and earth connections. This receiver has undergone a complete restoration in our museum workshop and is now in full working order.
The retail selling price was £12.14s.5d plus purchase tax.
