GEC manufactured this 6 transistor portable radio in 1960. Housed in a Rexine and Oatmeal cloth covered wooden case. This radio featured 2 reception wavebands medium and long. A top mounted 3 way push button switch is used for band selection and on/off. A ferrite rod aerial is fitted inside for MW & LW reception. A car aerial socket is provided on the cabinet side.

A 9Volt (PP9) dry cell battery fitted inside the case powered the set. Printed circuit board technology was employed to mount many of the components.
