1950s
Bush manufactured this 7 valve receiver in 1964. Housed in a Sapele veneered wooden cabinet. This radio featured 3 reception wavebands medium, long wave and VHF selectable by means of 3 push buttons mounted below the tuning scale. An internal ferrite rod aerial provided reception for MW & LW plus a wire dipole aerial for VHF. Additional sockets at the rear are fitted for a tape recorder and external FM aerial connections. This receiver has undergone a complete restoration in our museum workshop and is now in full working order.
The retail-selling price was £22.12s.5d plus purchase tax when it was first released in 1964.
